In this final webinar of the Silver Bullet introductory series, we will provide coaches with an in-depth look into the skills and knowledge required to coach in the current environment. Being agile and adaptable, being able to utilise and incorporate knew knowledge into your coaching practice is key to ensuring a safe and successful coaching practice. An understanding of the implications of pain in the young athlete is essential for safe and effective coaching. The coach will gain an understanding of how to approach skill development and skill improvement for improved performance.

What you will learn:    

  1. Strategies to lead with agility and humanity: Leadership is about influencing people to galvanise them to move from their current state to a different future state. This means you need to adapt quickly and take your athletes with you on the journey.
  2. Pain and the young athlete. Pain has become a common feature of the young athlete. What are the implications of pain for the athlete’s health and performance and when should we act?
  1. Ability vs Skill: What can we modify? Ability is the inherent capacity each person has to complete a movement. Skill is something that is learnt and that can be taught. This session provides an insight into how skill in a sport can be trained. It identifies different requirements based on the different types of skill.
