Following our introductory webinar, part 1 of 3 in the Silver Bullet introductory series will provide coaches with guidelines to be more effective communicators, give insight into training and managing the sports brain, as well as practically how to deal with a multi-talented athlete.

This session includes practical and ready to use tips to improve your coaching practice.

Locker: Coaches Locker
Level: Introductory

What you will learn:

  1. How to communicate for mutual understanding: We have all experienced the frustration when players just do not seem to grasp what we are saying. But perhaps this has more to do with our own communication efforts. The focus in this session will be on the fundamentals of communicating effectively with all stakeholders and in your varying coaching roles.
  2. The Brain and Sport – The athlete’s brain plays a pivotal role in sports performance and health. Coaches need to be aware of factors which can both positively and negatively affect brain health to encourage optimal athletic performance.
  1. The multisport athlete: Sport specialisation is a hot topic within our school system. The session identifies an approach that the coach, sports administrator, school or parent can adopt to ensure a healthy injury free sports career. The focus will be on the physical preparation, management and inter-relatedness of these and how they influence physical performance.
